Description
Before the expanding group of stores, apartment buildings, restaurants and new businesses on 12th Avenue South, an idea was born from a light hearted conversation between Miranda Whitcomb Pontes and a friend. That ideas was Burger UP; a quality burger place—a community-driven restaurant—a place where people of all ages would feel welcome—a place appropriate for a business lunch, first date, or a celebration.
Burger UP was founded on the concept of thoughtful consuming—meaning we take great care to source our menu from local farms practicing sustainability and human treatment of animals. From opening day, our beef has been sourced from Triple L Ranch in Franklin, TN. Steven Lee and his family have been a huge part of the success of Burger UP and we've had the joy of watching their farm grow with us. In addition, an ever-expanding array of Tennessee and surrounding area farms are represented on our menu. That is what you will see on the plate in front of you: food that not only tastes incredible, but honors the community, environment and your well-being.
Through the years, Burger UP has evolved, but we remain true to our founding vision. In 2013 we formed Community Hospitality and opened two new restaurants; Josephine in 2013 and Prima in 2014. With this organization we continue our commitment to a culture of growth and empowerment for our restaurant family and great hospitality through responsible cooking, innovative menus and excellent service for our guests.
